Sasan earlier known as Shringavali is located in Singrauli, which is fast emerging as India’s energy capital. Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project also known as SUMPP is one of 9 Ultra Mega Power Project’s proposed by government of India. Sasan UMPP along with the coal mine would on completion become the largest integrated coal-cum-power plant in the country. This project was awarded Euro-money’s best project financing deal of the year. The project is scheduled to be fully commissioned by April 2016 and it will be providing power to seven states – Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakand.

Sasan UMPP – a Reliance Power’s flagship project.It is world’s largest integrated power generation and coal mining project.
The project comprises of six units of 660 MW each. The Sasan UMPP will provide reliable and low cost power for 25 years to more than 42 crore people in seven Indian states. As of 2016 Environmental reports 2, 44, 000 trees covering an area of 329 acre, with survival rate of 80 % have already been planted till date.
